The Finnish International Studies Association’s (FISA) sixth triannual conference will be held at Majvik Congress Hotel on 18 and 19 January 2019. The conference strives to provide a comprehensive, current and multidisciplinary look into Finnish international relations research, and to bring together researchers in different stages of their careers, other professionals, as well as people interested in the subject. The organizers have also invited researchers from the Nordic countries to the 2019 conference.
The conference is organised in cooperation with the Nordic International Studies Association (NISA), the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, the Ministry of Defence of Finland, the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA) and the Foundation for Foreign Policy Research.
The 2019 conference is organised on the 100th anniversary of the discipline of International Relations (IR). To celebrate this, the history and future of IR has also been chosen as the theme of the FISA 2019 conference. Keynote addresses will be given by, Professor (emeritus) Kalevi Holsti; University of British Colombia; Professor Lene Hansen, University of Copenhagen; and Professor Torbjørn L. Knutsen, Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
